1 x God - 4 AP
8 x Blades - 16 AP
1 x Warband - 2 AP
This was OK, and had some success, but a single Wb does seem a little isolated when it could benefit from rear support. So, after some more thought a Mk 2 Viking army emerged, more in line with general fantasy Vikings and what their ememies thought about them:
1 x Hero @ 4 AP
6 x Blades (Viking warriors)
1 x Behemoth (Berserkers)
1 x Beasts (Wolves from the frozen North) @ 2 AP
Finally I arrived at what I regard as my definitive Viking army. Taking the final battle of Ragnarok as a basis, I designed an army of the Einherejar led by Odin All-father.
1 x Hero general - Odinn on Sleipnir @ 4 AP
1 x Beasts - Odinns Wolves @ 2 AP
1 x Flyer - The Valkyries @ 2AP
1 x Behemoth - Unstoppable berserkers @ 2 AP
6 x Blades - The army of Valhal @ 2 AP
I have a long-lasting interest in Viking, so my first battles used a historic DBA Viking army with the very simple addition of a God to lead them. In it's original 24 AP incarnation this army had:
1 x Blade General - 2 AP
1 x Blade General @ 2 AP
@ 2 AP
@ 4 AP
Options include: another Hero @ 4 AP, Archers @ 2 AP, Flyers (Valkyries) @ 2AP, Warband @ 2 AP, Cleric (Village witch-woman) @ 3 AP, Horde (Vilagers) @ 1 AP
